How much does it cost?
To transcribe a solo, the price is negotiable. I try to keep the prices very affordable.
How do I order a finished solo?
Finished Solos are 50 cents a page. The number of pages is listed at the end of each solo. Most use PayPal and have the solos emailed as a pdf file. There is a $1 minimum if you would like to use PayPal. If you use the link to PayPal on the main page, there will be a box for you to type in your choices. If you use your Paypal, the box is not there. You should always send a email after you pay with paypal, especially if you use a different email to pay with. Solos are normally emailed in 24 hours, if you did not get it and it is not in your junk folder, please email me. I use the latest version of Adobe, so please update your reader if you are having problems opening the solo.
If you would like a key change, it would be $1 per key change. For example, if you want a 10 page tenor solo for alto, it would be $5 for the tenor solo and $1 for the solo to be changed to alto. $6 total.
How long does it take?
For finished solos, it should take less than a week at most and most are emailed ASAP. New solos is dependent on a number of factors. Transcribing is done in my free time. Rhythms are the hardest to transcribe. Ballads especially. Length of tune, quality of sound and intonation are other variables that can effect the time it takes. All solos are done by ear.
Where and how do I send the songs?
With the internet, a number of options are available. CDs are the best. The intonation is better than with tapes. If you use tapes, it is a good idea to let me know what key the song is in, or what the first note is. MP3 files work well too. Audiograbber is a free program that will make mp3s from a CD, you can find it with a Google search. If you would like to send me a mp3 of a tune, you can use www.yousendit.com Please do not send Itunes files that are password protected.
Chords changes, album, artist, date recorded and any other info are greatly desired.
